The 14th FIPS-Mouche World Youth Fly Fishing Championship will bring youth from all over the world to Vail, CO for a week of activities, parades, opening and closing ceremonies, conservation symposium, and world class fly fishing on area rivers and lakes. The youth teams will experience the very best of Colorado as they access the top of Vail Mountain by way of gondola for a birds of prey demonstration, zip lining, and views of 14,000 foot peaks.
The America Cup will showcase the western traditions and beauty of the American west while providing a world class fly fishing championship on the remarkable trout waters of Colorado.

Sector I EAGLE RIVER upper
The Eagle River is an excellent freestone river with prolific hatches. It flows from high above Camp Hale south of Redcliff to its confluence with the Colorado River in Dotsero. Thank you to James Jouflis, Vail Rod & Gun Club, Lazy J Ranch, and Minturn Anglers for access to this private water.
Sector II EAGLE RIVER lower

Sector III COLORADO RIVER
Colorado River hosted at the Colorado River Ranch is a classic wide open river venue. The Upper Colorado below Gore Canyon meanders through the spectacular Canyon Country offering not only outstanding fishing, but also an unforgettable setting. The only thing that rivals the beauty of these canyons are the trout you will encounter.
Sector IV SYLVAN LAKE
Sylvan Lake State Park is a high alpine mountain loch style venue. Sylvan provides serenity in an alpine park perfect for daydreaming.
Sector V DILLON RESERVOIR
Dillon Reservoir is an excellent big water loch style venue. Staging will be in the Town of Frisco at Frisco Bay Marina. Frisco Bay Marina is a certified clean marina located on the shores of scenic Dillon Reservoir in the heart of Summit County, Colorado.
Colorado River – Coyote Ranch near Dotsero Practice sessions held on the Karl Berger Coyote Ranch near Dotsero. The coyote Ranch is also a favorite destination for our Soldier's Programs.
The Evergreen Lodge is the host hotel and headquarters for the championship
The Evergreen Lodge is where the event headquarters, competitor lodging, meals, transportation staging, team registration, captain’s meetings, beat draw, and posting of scores will occur. This will be a great place to meet and mingle with the international teams and to enjoy the festive atmosphere
Conservation Symposium
The 2015 World Youth Fly Fishing Championship will provide a Conservation Symposium on the topics of watershed conservation, invasive species, and fishery management. The location will be historic Camp Hale where the 10th Mountain Division trained for World War II.
The Vail Mountian hosted the Opening Gala, Birds of Prey presentation, Awards Ceremony, and Closing Dinner Gala.
Exceptional food, outstanding meeting spaces, top notch staff, and professional staging made these championship components polished and memorable.
The teams were treated to a western evening at the Beaver Creek Rodeo. A full line up of classic rodeo events – Bareback & Saddle Bronc Riding, Team Roping, Barrel Racing and of course, Bull Riding! Get in on the rodeo action by signing up for the Calf Scramble, Mutton Bustin’ and Burro Racing.
Nova Guides provided the venue for our wellness event 'Soldier's Day'. Guests from Colorado and Wyoming fished the day with top youth anglers from around the world to increase their skills and make new friends.
Eagle County Transportation provided all staging transfers and travel for the championship. the buses were comfortable and on time for every leg of the event.
An event is as strong as its volunteers. Join us to make this a championship of a lifetime! Most volunteers go river side with a competitor. This volunteer is called a controller.
The job is not hard and you get to spend time on the water with some of the top anglers in the world.
Controllers are assigned to a competitor, measuring and recording the trout. It’s an opportunity to watch and learn from the best fly fisherman in the world. If you are looking to compete in a future event, this is a great way to learn the event process and to watch the stealthy techniques of some world class fly fishermen.
